brand deals

Level 1: DIY Brand deals

Perhaps you are a smaller creator (10K or less subs) and you want to learn how to find brand deals, find the right rep to reach out to and figure out how to price yourself. 2 paths: 1) Attend Tyler’s weekly zoom calls where Tyler leads you and 5-10 other creators teaching you where to find brand deals, how to price yourself, how to successfully pitch your channel and you to brands, produce the brand integration and how to have a mind-blowing post production summary and follow-up that make brands come back to you because you become their preferred creator to work with. 2) sign up for a 30 min or 1 hour session with Tyler and she will lead you through the entire brand deal acquisition process and answer questions that you have about your brand deals. How do you charge for paid ad usage? Tyler will tell you.

Level 2: Inbound brand deals need negotiations

Are you a mid-level creator (10K to 100K subs) and you get 5 to 7 to 10 incoming brand deals a month? Maybe you need someone to negotiate your brand deals and redline the agreement? Tyler often can increase the original offers 2x-4x. She has been able to go from 4-figures to 5-figures in almost every deal. And after she closes the deal, she will also negotiate and redline the agreement, making sure to protect your name and likeness as well as mutual indemnity, with a cap. A win-win, really.

Level 3: Full management and legal services (white glove service)

You’re an established creator with 100K+ subs and you are making 6 figures a year. Perhaps you have had an agency or manager and you were less than thrilled with their (lack of) attention and now you want some personalized attention. You want a negotiator who can get you more than the original offer and negotiate through all the legal agreement and protect your name and likeness as well as mutual indemnity, with a cap. You want Tyler to go find brand deals for you, which Tyler can do, and has had great success with her brand and agency connections.

What about brand managers?

Shouldn’t I just hire a brand manager who have the relationships with the brands and agencies? You can. If you find a good one, hug them and guard them with your life. But realize that most brand managers take 15-20% and do not negotiate or redline the agreement. Unfortunately, a lot of my clients haven’t had great experiences with managers (or agencies—there are some good ones and I can recommend some if they will work non-exclusively is best) and prefer to work with me because I am non-exclusive and I only take 10%.

Business Strategy & Coaching

Tyler is happy to serve as your factional COO and provide business coaching around your YouTube channel as it grows. She helps her clients launch products like courses that helps them reach 6 and 7 figures with eventual goals of having an 8 or 9 figure exit with products like Feastable, Chamberlin Coffee or Prime Hydration.

People want to buy from people not corporations. Products like the above and Skims are not a fluke. There will be a total shift in how marketing and selling will take place in the future and it is already happening. See this recent interview with Marc Andreessen on Fourtune.

Most creators are creative and should not be running their businesses, they need to hire a COO who can handle operations, hiring of employees and strategies for diversifying their revenue streams. Tyler functions as fractional COO for her clients because most creators do not yet need a full time president or COO, unless you’re Mr. Beast or Mark Rober.

CEASE-AND-DESIST, COPYRIGHT CLAIMS, AND STRIKES

What do you do if you get a C&D letter, a copyright claim from a rights holder (directly or from YouTube) or a copyright strike from YouTube?

Some of the scariest times of being a creator is receiving a cease-and-desist letter or copyright claim/strike. What do you do? Well, first of all, do not panic. Sometimes letters are sent and they might not be the rightful rights holder or maybe the violation or infringement has been corrected.

As for the copyright claim or strike, because each situation is different it depends on the facts but bring your facts to Tyler and she can guide you.

Book a 30-min call with Tyler and she will be able to answer your questions.

What about Litigation?

what if you need to sue someone or you are being sued?

Tyler can help. She has partnered with litigators who left big law and who are sick of protecting big companies. We are currently taking on one of the biggest creators on YouTube who dared to publicly doxx another fellow YouTuber publicly on her Instagram page.
